The present study attempts to investigate the use of Islamic reading materials in improving the students of Mts Raudhotul Ulum in English reading mastery. How does the teacher implement Islamic materials to improve students’ English reading skill at the second grade of MTs RaudhatulUlum, Klampis, Bangkalan? (2) How does the use of Islamic materials affect students’ English reading skill? (3) What is the students’ response toward the use of Islamic Materials English reading?rn This study is aimed to describe the implementation of Islamic materials to improve students’ English reading skill. Secondly, is aimed to find out how well the students’ reading mastery after using Islamic materials. The last one, this study is also aimed to understand the students’ responses toward the use of Islamic Materials in learning reading.rnThe research design of this study is classroom action research (CAR). The data of this study is gathered by means of observation checklist, test and questionnaire. Data analysis method which is used in this study is statistical method.rnThe results of the study shows that the students’ reading mastery after using Islamic materials in learning reading is getting improved. It can be seen from the students’ score from pre-test to post-test. In each test, the students’ score is always improved. In pre-test students have 63.07 that is lower than the result of first cycle 72.11. In the second cycle, the students’ score is developed up to 75.19. And in third cycle, the students’ score is developed again up to 83,65.rnThe strategies are effective because they meet the extend purpose of the teacher to make students’ reading ability improved. Completing the research, students’ responses are good. They look so excited during the class. So, the researcher concludes that using Islamic materials is effective in improving English reading skill based on the data achieved.rn
