Kebijakan penutupan rumah makan pada bulan ramadhan : sebuah kajian identitas Islam di Ruang Publik dalam perspektif Gender /
This paper tries to examine public policy regarding the closing of restaurants and cafes during Ramadhan month from gender perspective. The writter argues that the policy does not consider gender aspect, both in the formulation as well as in the implementation and thereforecan be categorized as gender blind policy. On the contrary, the policy that considers gender aspect is defined as sensitive and responsive gender. This study is significant and relevant to gender issue because the legal status of the fasting actually does acknowledge the difference between male and female. Those gender blind policies potentially cause gender based injustice for one party, male or female. Therefore, government as the regulator and decision maker should conduct sorts of public surveys to determine public opinion on the regulation before actually imposing a regulation which has wide impact toward society.
