Ulama of Islam in Indonesia had large enough shares in the capture of Indonesian independence and its establishment. This was not separated from their ideas of nationality. By using library research and supported by interviews with relevant parties, this research found two ideas of natinality of a famous scholar, namely KH. Achmad Siddiq. According to his view, the function of the clergy in the middle of the life of society, nation, and state is as tabligh, tibyan, tahkim, and uswah. In addition, he also stated that the relathinship and cooperation between scholars and political leaders can not be ignored. It is because the mission of the state ruler [sultan] is to create the order of mankind as religious people. Therefore, religion is a basis for sultan to create an order of the human race.ifa.
