In the Islamic Arab culture, there are at least three epistemology paradigms, namely bayani, burhani, and irfa epistemology. First paradigm is bound to the text with various language structures. The second paradigm with the power of rational knowledge bases and the third paradigm of using hearth as a mens to acquire knowledge. The sufis call the third paradigm with istitah, irfan. Irfan paradigm has implication for the educational process that pays attention to hearth potency develpment and education process through direct experience.ifa.
