Muhammadiyah, as a big Moslem organization, has to concern with legal problems faced by its members. Muhammadiyah has placed the tasks to one of its departements called Majlis Tarjih to deals with any legal problems, especially the contemporary and uptodate ones. It is well known that Muhammadiyah always based its argumentation on two primary legal sources, al Qur'an and al hadits. As a reformist organization, Muhammadiyah has a great ambitions to purify Islamic teachings, and for this purpose, Muhammadiyah often exercises talfiq [invention]. It is a fact, however, that Muhammadiyah derives its legal opinions not only from al Qur'an and hadits, but on the opinions of leading ulama' from certain schools of thoght as well.ifa.
