In the book titled Speaking in Gods name: Islamic Law, Authority, and Woman that has been translated by serambi press with the Indonesian version title Atas Nama Tuhan: dari Fikih Otoriter le Fikih Otoritatif, Khaled criticizes the authoritarian attitudes of some Muslims who perceive themselves as the most correct and accurate in interpreting Qur'anic verses and hadith. Using the hermenutics approach, Khaled tries to do semantic analysis on fatawas issued by CRLO [Council for Scientific Research and Legal Opinions], al Lajnah al Da'mah lil al Buhus al Ilmiyyah wa al Ifta' an official institution in Saudi Arabia that has been authorized to issue fatwa's, especially fatwas regarding women's issues, not only within Saudi Arabiya, but also all over the world. The argument is that if the fatwas are left vioced authoritatively with no critics upon them, then Islam is rising as a contradictory and violation to the spirits of Islam it self for it is a religion that respects human...ifa.
