This article analyzes the differences of Scholar [Ulama] on ushul al fiqh and their implications in the differences of furu' fiqhiyyah. Based on the theory that differences on Ushul make the differences on Furu', it is found that the differences on mazhab [school of Islamic Jurisprudence] have four causes, i.e. the common causes of differences, the qawa'id of al Qur'an and al Hadis understanding, the qawa'id that related to ijma' and Qiyas, and the qawa'id that related to any debatable dalil [sources or methods] of Islamic law. The common causes of differences on fiqih consist of five factors, i.e. the difference of qira'at [reading] of al Qur'an, knowledge of hadis the difference of text understanding, the existence of lafz musytarak and ta'arudl al adillah.ifa.
