This research discussed about basic patterns of Indonesian culture based on Fromm's analysis which is aimed to find out various possibilities of Fromm's philosophical thoughts application for contemporary social problems, especially in Pancasila society. This research is a philosophical research, the writer uses the historical, hermeneutical, and heuristical approaches. After the research was undertaken, it was concluded that; Fromm's critique on crisis that happenend in socio-cultural realities was rooted in his concept of human nature and social character.
