Islamic faith should be taught to communities since early ages. This aims for filtering them from the deviate ideology. One of the ways is teaching classic books. This studies local book entitled Niyat Ingsun Ngaji written by KH. Badawi Hanafi. This uses an intertekstual method with other books such as Nur al Zalam written by Syekh Nawawi al Bantani, Rawihat al Aqwam written by KH. Bisri Mustofa, and Aqidah al Awam written by Sayid Ahmad al Marzuqi. Content of the book is analyzed using critical discourse analysis. It is know transformation of value, interpretation, and response of Kyai and santri. Finding of the research illusstrates that Islamic transformation is limited in knowledge transformation. There is difference explanation of God's character and Prophet's character given by KH. Badawi Hanafi, Syekh Nawawi al Bantani and KH. Bisri Mustafa. Interpretation of kyai and santri toward content of the book Niyat Ingsun Ngaji is relatively the same as the predecessor.ifa.
