The Madurese language conflict : a study of minority and majority language contact in the easternest Jawa Islad /
Madurese people are the people who come from Madura Island. They use and speak Madurese language to interact and communicate among the Madurese people community. A part of them come or stay in Java Island as emigrants in the easternest Java. As the [new] inhabitant of Java Island especially in the easternest Java Island, Madurese people become bilingual and multilingual persons because they have to use and speak Javanese languange or other majority language as in Indoensian language besides the Madurese language as the original langauge to interract and communicate with Javanese and Madurese people in the easternest Java. Principally, the Madurese language and Javanese language are separate language. Nevertheless, both of the languages [Madurese language and Javanese language] have some similarities as in the honorific vocabularies and the way to use the words to a certain person.
