Ibn Taimiyah was an Islamic philosopher who lived in gloomy era. At the time, Muslims were suffering decline in politics, and ideas or thingking related to Islam got stagnant. His figure was very respectable due to his knowledge and his works. His thinking and fatwas were the breakthrough in the academic world in his era. Because of his progressive and controversial ideas which often offended some ulamas and those in authority, he was frequently jailed.ifa.
