Perbandingan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematika mahasiswa pendidikan jarak jauh dengan mahasiswa pendidikan tatap muka :
The exploratory study of competency differences in problem solving of mathematics between students enrolled at distance learning system and face to face learning system was intended to distinguish students' different capabilities in solving routine and non-routine problems.In this study the students of Mathematics Education from Universita Terbuka (UT) were chosen as samples for distance learning and students with similar studt program from the Jakarta State University (UNJ) for face to face learning.Calculus problems were delivered as routine problems, while the simple prooving problems taken from Number Theory, Geometry, and Real Analysis were delivered as non-routine problems.The results indicate that in solving the routine problems, there were no significant different achievements between students of UT and those of UNJ.However, in solving the non-routine problems there were significant achievement between the two sample groups.
