This article tries to analize the doctrine and development of tarekat tijaniyah, the existence of which in Indonesia [Especially Java] has prompted to provoke some doubts on the status of its soundness [mu'tabar]. Not until the third congress of NU [Muktamar NU] in 1928 and the sixth in 1931, grand convocation [musyawarah besar] of the experts of mu'tabarah tarekat at Mranggen Semarang [1979] and the same convocation before the 27 th congress of NU, exactly the conference of NU Ulama at Probolinggo [1983], it is needed to recommend the formal attitude towards the controversy over whether or not the status of tijaniyah was sound. It is widely admitted that the first Muktamar of Jam'iyah Ahli Thariqah Mu'tabarah at Tegalrejo [1957] has acknowledged 45 tarekat mainstreams as sound [mu'tabar], including Tijaniyah, but it provoked the dispute due to the exclusivity claim of its doctrines. The focus on which this work will elaborate is as follows: 1)to recognize tijaniyah as one.........yo.
