This research will uncover, explain and criticize the women's perception of Pekalongan City on poligamy practice. Furthermore, it also will identify the supporting factors of polygamy practice and the effects of it. This qualitative research uses contructivism paradigm and theory of phenomenology. The data are investigated with in-depth-interview using snow balling method and observation. To analyze data, it analyses them inductively with interactive mode including investigating, recuding, presenting and concluding. The research reveals that polygamy, in the reality, harms the women and their children very much because it leads to violence and crime to them. Polygamy that is regarded as an instrument to solve social problems in society brings about social and humanism problems.yo.
