Surakarta State Islamic College [STAIN Surakarta] is in trantitional period. Its mean that the choice for alternative changes in the future should be take carefully. This is so because what all we take in present day will determine the form and chance of this college as a whole. Thus, reorientation of Islamic science and knowledge in STAIN Surakarta require to be conducted to find a new paradigm of institutional development. Most important, the decision makers of this college must recognize their power to evoke stakeholders's most positive, powerful visions alongside our most terrfying nitghmares. As we enter this new millennium our candidates for most important, the overarching trendsinfluencing our lives are : the booming global economy, the emergence of free market everywhere, global lifestyle and cultural nationalism, and so on.
