The basic charismatic of fundamentalism is returning to fundamenatal Islamic principle or to original text literally. The characteristic of puritanism, on the other hand, is returning to al qur'an and hadits, imitating Prophet, salaf ulama, and developing ijtihad. Revivalism, furthermore has the characteristic of reviving the example of Muhammad and the first Muslim community's state manivested in comprehensive trait of syari'ah through al qur'an as the revealed God's law. Islamism, moreover, is characterized by Islamic coloring in all sides, such as the formation of Islamic society, Islamic politics, Islamic culture and Islamic economy.
