As a method of interpretation, hermeneutic of liberation is concerned itself with the social context of a text. It is believed that the text does not come into existence by itself. It is historically constructed. Grammatical approach to the text is insufficient. Therefore, this method provides the social context as a basis for interpretation on the qur'an. This method stars by analyzing social reality with the assistence of social sciences. Then the result of this analysis is referred to ethical framework of the qur'an. the Qur'anic ethics and moral thus function as a guideline for liberation in a society.
