Based on the historical evidences, this article explains that religious pluralism has a deep root in the experience of Western civilization in achieving the piece of society. Through this article the writer tries to show that separatism, horizontal conflict, and other violence among societies, as happening in Indonesia recently, should be solved with revitalizing the idea of pluralism and nationalism in the societies. The comprehension to these two important concepts will make the tolerance among the societies development grow. Therefore, the piece will emerge. (end).
