Asas monogami menurut perspektif Muhammad Abduh : studi tentang metode tafsir al Manar /
This work tries to investigate Muhammad Abduh's point of view of monogamy priciple. In dealing with the analysis of the subject metter, the eriter bases himself on hermeneutical method by interpreting the Qur'an surah al Nisa' verses 3 and 129. On the basis of these two verses, Abduh maintains that the basic principle of marriage reled by the Qur'an is monogamy, not polygamy. He further argues that polygamy is not allowed [haram] by the Qur'an with the condition that husbands are not able to treat their wives justly. Despite the fact that the basic principle of marriage in Islam is monogamy, the mayority of muslim society assumes that the basic principle of marriage in Islam is poligamy. Such an assumption has been the dogma widely believed by the muslim. This is due to the fact that this principle has been widely practiced by the classical society before Islam. @syur.
