Globalization with its various tendencies requires the presence of social-cultural dialogue, which of them is through education. Islamic Boarding School [Pesantren] as a form of education in Indonesia has its own potential in responding to global challenges in relation to the preservation of native culture. As the oldest form of education in Indonesia, it is historically proven capable of maintaining its existence in the midst of an ever-changing dynamics of education and growing. Therefore, it has to be admitted that the Islamic boarding school [pesantren] with their strength, it is necessary to have reform of education running system in order to be remain exist in the middle of gobal competition. In this context, the paper discusses about pesantren's role in keeping and preserving the nation's original culture. Besides that, to make pesantren remain considered in global competition, the writter explains about the necessary of serious effort to add and complete santri's...ifa.
